Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Structure. The following positions shall be established /
filled to work with the President/CEO and World Headquarters (WHQ)
staff e.g., Board Services, in providing IAAM member-driven
professional development support: (1) Chair – responsible for
overall coordination of committee strategy, agenda(s), and awards,
(2) Vice Chair – responsible for coordinating historical records
collection and, (3) 8 district secretary(s) – records, (4)
representative of each of the facility specific conferences,
[Arenas, Stadiums, Performing Arts, Convention Centers, Crowd
Management and University Venue Management Conferences].
Additionally, committee shall be represented by a member of the BOE,
preferably the Vice Chair.
2. Liaison Roles:
a. The committee shall be represented in each district
and by each venue type.
b. Past Presidents’ Council
3. Works. Review annually the relevant documents and
publications to ascertain what information shall be recorded and
maintained as relevant historical documentation and archived
accordingly. Provide leadership to include, but not be limited to:
a. Develop a strategy with a vision for the future that
captures the historical significance
of association activity.
b. Identify documents and publications that
should be archived.
c. Provide processes and mechanisms that collect,
collate, and archive relevant
documents.
d. Establish a meaningful method of acknowledging
volunteer contribution to the
association and the industry it
serves.
e. Research and write epitaphs for “Legacy of
Leaders.”
4. Meetings/Reports. Meets during annual conference and trade
show at specified times with a prepared agenda and thereafter a
minimum of two occasions (fall and spring) via audio conference
calls (assisted by WHQ). Provide minutes of each meeting to
committee and WHQ staff [Directors – Board Services; Sales and
Marketing] and submit reports to Chair of IAC at specified times
prior to mid-winter Board of Directors (BOD) meeting (December each
year) and Annual Conference.
5. Works. Develop criteria for recognizing volunteerism,
contribution, and dedication.
