Name Rosanne Duke Position Director, Board & Administrative Services What are some of your responsibilities? Responsible for all governance pieces of IAAM and all committees, boards, councils, task forces and volunteer groups. I work very closely with our IAAM Board of Directors and our Executive Director. How long have you been with IAAM? 8 ˝ years – my IAAM anniversary is in June. What is Your Favorite Part of IAAM? The MEMBERS!!!!!!!!!! Because of my role at WHQ, I have the honor and privilege to work with about 200 or so members every year. We could not be the association we are today without these wonderful men and women. What are some exciting things coming up in your area that our members need to know about? IAAM President, Steve Peters’ initiative: MMGI – Mission, Membership, and Governance. The Board of Directors is looking at the future of the association and how we can move into the 21st century as a better equipped, more fluid, and flexible entity. This touches every area of my job description – from bylaws and policies to membership and how we address the industry’s needs. Change is sometimes overwhelming, but this is such an exciting opportunity for IAAM that I am truly “gushing” about the things to come over the next 18 – 36 months. How do you hope to add value to the IAAM Members? I hope the value I add is “availability and assistance”. I like to tell my committees, board, council chairs, and officers to look to me for anything. I am thrilled to be the “point person” - and will try to connect our members with the right staff person depending on their need. Who/What inspires you? My husband, Lloyd, is my inspiration. Lloyd has had many struggles with his health beginning in January 2004. He currently remains home on long term disability – from an injury sustained in August 2005 and it appears that he might not be able to return to work – we will know more in about a month or so. But through it all – cancer, the accident, and the injuries that have kept him from healing – he has remained a ROCK. His faith and his strength have kept me focused. We know life is a journey – not a destination – and Lloyd remains the leader in “making the journey an adventure and not a burden.” I would love the membership to meet him – he is the BEST part of me. What is something that the members don’t know about you? I published a book of poetry when I was 17. We printed 100 copies and only sold 27 – I think they were all family members, HA! I originally had hoped to write for children – but God took me in another direction. Hobbies: Singing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. |
